About Mini Medical School

The UF Medical Guild, UF Health - Academy for Science and Careers, and UF-Center for Precollegiate Education and Training welcomes you to our Mini Medical School Teacher Professional Development Day, in-person on the UF campus!

Mini Medical School is a 1-day learning opportunity for secondary, health, and vocational teachers to broaden their knowledge of important health science topics though interactions with health professionals and researchers, and to take this knowledge back to their classrooms.

We also welcome school administrative faculty to attend!

A light breakfast, lunch, and parking will be provided, along with a shuttle from the parking garage to the venue.

(As parking on campus is limited, carpooling is encouraged.)

Spring 2026

Date: April 17, 2026

Time: 8:30 am - 4 pm

Location: University of Florida, Gainesville, FL

Topic: Code to Cure: The New Medical Frontier!

You’ll explore how AI is transforming the way we diagnose disease, design treatments, deliver care, and train the next generation of clinicians. Through engaging talks and real-world examples, our speakers will demystify the technology—no prior technical background required.

This symposium will help you:

  • Understand what AI really is (and isn’t) in the clinical setting
  • See how algorithms are used in imaging, diagnosis, and personalized care
  • Learn about the promises and pitfalls of AI, from ethics to equity
  • Envision how these tools can augment—not replace—the human side of medicine

Join us for a day of insight, inspiration, and conversation at the intersection of code and care
