Program Information
Summary: This is a 5-day residential program is for K12 teachers who teach environmental science or who plan to incorporate aspects of the environmental sciences into their science curriculum.
Description: This program is a five-day, residential program addressing issues of environmental toxicology and conservation. Teachers will visit UF research labs and interact with distinguished University of Florida faculty and researchers. They will take field trips to local ecosystems and participate in research and scientific exploration.
Food/Meals: Teachers will be responsible for their own meals. UF's campus, and the surrounding Gainesville area offers many dining options.
Housing: Teachers can request housing on the UF Gainesville campus and will check into their residence hall on UF's campus between 4p and 7p on Sunday July 10th. There is no additional cost to teachers for housing.
Stipend: Selected participants will receive a $1000 stipend for their participation in the program. $900 will be allocated at the 5-day program completion and $100 after student outcomes report is received from the teacher within 6 months of the program completion date.
