Applications will open January 15, 2025! - https://ufcpet.smapply.us/
Program Description:
The Gator Artificial Intelligence (AI) Camp is a two-week residential program for rising 10th and 11th grade students interested in learning to use AI tools and exploring their increasing impact on society. The program targets students who have a keen interest in programming and AI but who have little to no hands-on experience with programming.
Gator AI Camp participants will learn the basics of Python programming and using AI tools to solve problems, analyze datasets, and create digital objects. Students meet and learn from UF faculty in a range of social and physical science disciplines, as well as university staff with expertise in emerging technologies. The Gator AI Camp includes tours of campus facilities for a close-up view of a world-leading research environment. This includes the UF Data Center, which is home to HiPerGator, one of the premier supercomputing and AI facilities in the country.
Important Information: This program is available to Florida residents only. Students must make a commitment to attend and participate in the entire program. The number of seats is limited. Please confirm no other academic, school-related, sports, work, or family events will conflict with the program dates. All interested and eligible students are encouraged to apply regardless of ability to pay. Need-based scholarships are available for students attending a Florida high school. We are committed to providing an inclusive learning environment with access for all students. The Gator AI Camp advances this objective through the recruitment of students from historically underrepresented groups in STEM. Examples include people with one or more of these identities: Black, Latinx/Hispanic, Indigenous, Pacific Islander, LGBTQIA+, students with financial need, students with disabilities, and (future) first-generation college students.
